Dear Parent /Guardian,
As we approach the mid point of the spring term and the beginning of our meteorological spring, I am reminded at how busy this time of the school year is, not least for our 3rd year , 6th year and LCA students who are entering the final lap in preparation for the state examinations commencing in June 2024, just over three months away!

School Uniform:
There had been a marked improvement in uniform compliance this year, however, in recent weeks, there has been some noticeable slippage. The standards with regard to uniform have not changed. Correct PE bottoms should be worn, shoes should be predominately black and only school jackets should be worn during the school day. We know that the school jacket is unpopular with students. We are working with local suppliers to develop some sample alternatives which, when available, will be shared with students and the Parents Association for their views. We very much appreciate cost pressures, and when we are in a position to introduce a new school jacket, the present school jacket will still be acceptable as school uniform.
However, we are determined to work towards a position where all students understand and adhere to the school uniform policy.
Mobile Phones:
School policy regarding the use / misuse of mobile phones has not changed. You will appreciate this continues to be a challenging area. We would appreciate your continuing support in this. In particular, some students choose to contact home directly or are contacted by home directly. All contact should go through the school office.
Exam Students:
We recognise fully that we are approaching “exam season” for many students and this can be an anxious and stressful time for them and for you! We are here to help any student at this time and would encourage you to reinforce this message with them. Take time to examine the mock exam reports, particularly the comments by your child’s subject teachers. They are in the best position to advise you. However, nobody can remove all stress and we must all be mindful that exams by their nature are tough and are stressful. They require preparation, hard work, and commitment.
All we can expect is that students try their hardest and do their best.
As ever, thank you for your continued support. Please contact us directly if you have any specific concerns.
